From 1 November Yandex Search API Runs at 10–20% Night Capacity — Pixel Tools Drops the API for Live SERP Credits

The night window for Yandex Search API is no longer a temporary patch that rank trackers can schedule around. From 1 November the same asynchronous path that we covered on 20 October is running at a fraction of prior throughput, Cloud’s free month for Russian zones has ended, and at least one major Russian SEO platform has abandoned the API for live SERP parsing with a new credit price list.

Pixel Tools told customers on 30 October that it was moving every Yandex check to live parsing. The reason it gives is Yandex Cloud guidance as of 29 October: from 1 November Search API would be available only from 00:00 to 06:00 Moscow time at roughly 10–20% of previous speed. That is not enough for daytime monitoring, so Pixel now scrapes the live results page in blocks of ten and bills by depth — one credit for top 10, two for top 20, three for top 30, four for top 50, six for top 100.

AffGate’s trade note the same day put it more bluntly: daytime XML checks are off for the coming months, night runs continue with sharply lower limits, and manual XML launches are disabled. Its advice mirrors Pixel’s — switch projects to a live-SERP mode even though it burns more credits.

What Cloud still says

Yandex Cloud’s recovery recommendations page, updated again at 17:20 Moscow time on 2 November, still tells AI Studio and related users to prefer synchronous mode (with delays) and notes that asynchronous mode works only from midnight to 06:00 MSK. The same update ends the goodwill period: Cloud services were free for existing Russian-zone customers from 8 to 31 October; from 00:00 MSK on 1 November they are billed again. Search API customers who planned to backfill cheap history in late October have missed that window.

None of this restores new-site onboarding or writable recrawl in Webmaster, which we flagged in the 29 October restoration list. The indexing log study from SEENGO still stands: the robot is busy on old URLs while fresh URLs wait. A cheaper night API does not fix an index that is not accepting new pages.

Methodology debt for November

Three series are now in play for anyone reporting Yandex positions into November:

  • Historic XML / Search API night batches (00:00–06:00 MSK, now capacity-capped)
  • Emergency live-SERP scrapes from mid-October onwards
  • Vendor-specific “Yandex Live” regions that rewrite how depth and credits are counted

Pixel is explicit that live parsing is temporary and may last one to two months, with no promise on price. If your charts jump on 30 October or 1 November, check whether the vendor changed source or credit rules before you blame an algorithm.

My take

The story has moved from “API is back at night” to “the SEO tooling market is pricing Yandex as a scrape-first engine for the next quarter”. Annotate 1 November for billing and capacity, 30 October for Pixel’s credit table, and keep night-API and live-SERP columns separate. Until Cloud lifts the 10–20% night cap and Webmaster accepts new projects again, treat any clean year-on-year Yandex ranking chart as unfinished work.
